Criteria for closing school:
• Cincinnati Public Schools close
OR
• Northwest Local Schools, Oak Hills Local Schools, and/or Finneytown Local Schools close
Procedures for closing school:
1. High School and Elementary School Directors will consult with Summit Academy
Regional Director prior to initiating a school closing.
2. School Director (working from home) will . . .
• initiate Teleparent phone system (working from home)
• make phone calls to initiate staff Phone Tree system
• notify local television stations, radio stations, and internet websites.
3. School secretary (working from home) will . . .
• contact lunch caterer to cancel food delivery.
2 Hour Delay
Criteria for 2 hour delay:
• Northwest Local and/or Oak Hills Local Schools declare a 2 hour delay.
Procedures for 2 hour delay: Cincinnati Elementary
1. High School and Elementary School Directors will consult with Summit Academy
Regional Director prior to initiating a school closing.
2. School Director (working from home) will . . .
• initiate Teleparent phone system (working from home)
• make phone calls to initiate staff Phone Tree system
• notify local television stations, radio stations, and internet websites.
3. School secretary (working from home) will . . .

4. Reporting Team will arrive at school no later than 7:15 AM.
• 1 member of Reporting Team will remain in the parking lot to communicate
with parents who are dropping students off at school
• 2nd member of Reporting Team will . . .

5. Administrative Team will arrive at school no later than 8:15.
6. All staff will arrive at school no later than 9:00.
7. Students will begin arriving at school at 9:25.
8. If the School Delay turns in to a School Closing, the decision will be made no later
than 8:15 AM by following the School Closing Procedures listed above.
Note: 2 Reporting Teams will be set up. Reporting Teams are members of the administrative team
Reporting Team A and Reporting Team B will alternate arriving at the
school at 7:15 AM for each announced 2 hour delay.
Procedures for 2 hour delay: Cincinnati THS
1. High School Director will consult with Summit Academy Elementary Director and
Regional Director prior to initiating a 2 hour delay.
2. High School Director (working from home) will . . .
• notify local Summit Academy website coordinator to list the 2 hour delay on
the Cincinnati THS website (working from home)
• notify local television stations, radio stations, and internet websites.
3. School secretary (working from home) will . . .
• notify students, staff and parents by initiating Teleparent phone calls
• fax 2 hour delay announcement to transportation office of all home schools
4. Administrative Team will arrive at school no later than 7:00 AM.
• 2 administrative team members will remain in the parking lot to communicate
with parents who are dropping students off at school

Note: The rest of the Administrative team will monitor students that arrive at the building early and do not have an immediate ride home.
