The KUDER Program
I have been working during classes to register students in our KUDER program. The KUDER is an online Transition Planning program focused on guiding students through an exploration of their interests, preferences and aptitudes, and linking these to education and career options that fit their unique personalities and strengths. The KUDER program provides assessments, personalized career and college planning timelines, and a multitude of sources to explore careers and postsecondary education options. Parents can encourage completion of assessments and exploration of this awesome resource, as well as review assessment results and transition plans with their students! IT IS NEVER TOO EARLY TO BEGIN THE TRANSITION PROCESS! Go to oh.kuder.com and have your student log in. Mrs. Smith has login information if your child has forgotten it.

ACT Testing
The next ACT test date is April 14, 2012. The registration deadline is March 9, 2012.
FAFSA
Have a senior going to college? All students attending college must fill out the FAFSA each year. It is an online application that can be found at www.fafsa.ed.gov. The FAFSA provides the opportunity for funding for college. The earlier your application is submitted, the more funds are available!
Need FREE help filing your FAFSA? Sunday February 12th 2:00 is College Goal Sunday. Visit www.ohiocollegegoalsunday.org by February 10th to register at a variety of Ohio locations to receive FREE help filing your FAFSA! Seniors were given a flyer on this event.

Great Oaks
Great Oaks campuses began accepting applications February 1st. Sophomores interested in attending Great Oaks their Junior and Senior years should see Mrs. Smith for more information.

December Updates

Seniors, college applications for most schools are December-February. Check your schools of choice to see when their deadlines are. See me for help completing an application. You will need transcripts sent with your application. There is a Transcript Request Form that needs completed and signed. You can get these from me.

The next ACT test date is February 11, 2012. Cost is $34.00 for No Writing, and $49.50 for ACT Plus Writing. Deadline is January 13, 2012. See me for assistance in registering and applying for accommodations. Also, I have practice test booklets for any student interested.

Scarlet Oaks Career Center is having an Open House for prospective students January 26, 2012 5:30-7:30. Contact Sarah Wilson 513.612.5794 to register.
