PTST Meeting February 6th -
We will be holding a PTST
meeting on February 6, 2012 at 7:00 pm. At this meeting, we will be seeking public input for the expenditure of federal dollars for the school. Parents and those in the general public are invited.
Our Administrator of Federal Programs will be conducting a brief presentation and will be taking your input, as well as answering questions you may have. All interested individuals should attend or feel free to submit your input in writing.

Welcome to our school
This year is just beginning, but if you would like to go back and see what a good time we had last year, just click on the 2010-2011 link above. News and information will be added below as we have more interesting and rewarding experiences to share.
2011-2012 School Year
Student Council hosted a winter ball. There was much dancing, delicious cupcakes, and a Chancellor ceremony.
Our dinner was a huge success. The audience dined on spaghetti and fabulous desserts as they were entertained by a steel-drum performance, Grease, songs, and poetry. Thank you so much to the kind people at St. Nicholas Banquet Center for allowing us to use your space. Thank you so much to Jazzy Sweets for donating all the desserts!
Grease is the WORD!
Our biggest fund raiser for the year is on November1 at 7:00 pm, the Spaghetti Dinner at St. Nicholas Banquet Center. If your student is involved, please drop them off by 6:15 pm. You can use the time before dinner to peruse the baskets of prizes and participate in the Silent Auction.
Let us entertain you with Summit Academy Middle School's very first play ever, GREASE. We will also be presenting a steel-drum performance and an auction. Thanks to this event, we were able to buy instruments and field trips for our students last year. Let's keep the rewarding experiences coming!

Some exciting news we do have to offer is the hiring of three new teachers.
Tabatha England- 6th Language Arts
Patrick Wendell- 7th 8th Math
Kimberly Miller- 7th 8th Science
Also, three staff members from last year are joining our teaching staff.
Our IEP Coordinator from last year, Christine McBride, will be teaching 7th and 8th grade Math.
Our Speech Therapist, Pat Downing, is returning to teach 7th and 8th grade Language Arts.
Our Title 1 Reading Tutor, Jennifer Ancil, will be teaching in the Resource Room.
They were all strong assets to our school last year, and I am sure they will do very well in the year to come. Most importantly, they are all incredibly dedicated to our students.
